FIELD: colloid solutions. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns preparing hydrosols containing colloid metals or their mixtures to manufacture, for example, catalysts. Composition of metal particles deposited on naphthalene crystals is placed into water and subjected to steam distillation to remove naphthalene and obtain metal particle aggregates. The latter are treated with an organic solvent (acetone, hexane) to extract from their surface residual organic phase. After that, metal particle aggregates are ultrasonically treated in water to produce aqueous colloid solution of metal. As metal, copper, silver, gold, platinum, and palladium are used.
