FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: process is carried out by addition of the corresponding acids to the heated aqueous solution of metal salts and heating is carried out to the acid melting or premelting point. Then alkaline agent is added to the obtained suspension or emulsion of aliphatic acids melt in metal salts an aqueous solution at the indicated temperature and process is carried out at mole ratio salt : acid : alkaline agent = 1:n:n-(n + 0.4), respectively, where: n - whole number that equals to the charge of the corresponding metal cation. Sodium or potassium hydroxide is used as an alkaline agent and process is carried out at 40-100 C. Temperature of process must be lower that of melting point of the corresponding metallic soap by 5-90 C. Invention provides increase the yield of the end product by 2-3-fold, decrease of basic equipment by 4-fold, decrease of water, energy and process time by 2-2.5, 3-3.5 and 6-7-fold, respectively. Method is used for producing the so called metallic soap-C8 - C22 that can be used as filling agents and stabilizing agents, for production leather, drugs and others.
