FIELD: petroleum chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of sulfur with unsaturated hydrocarbons, for example, α-limonene, styrene, 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene, dicyclopentadiene that were fed at mole ratio sulfur : unsaturated hydrocarbon = (25:1)-(10:1). Process is carried out firstly at 125-140 C and then at 160-170 C followed by cooling of the obtained product with water or air. Interaction of sulfur with the unsaturated hydrocarbons is carried out in the presence of substances binding by-side sulfur-containing products that were formed during the synthesis. These substances were added at both the first and the second stage of synthesis. Synthetic C10 - C20-fatty acid calcium salt at amount 2.5-10.0% or coriander oil at amount 0.25-0.75% of unsaturated hydrocarbon mass were used as agents binding sulfur-containing by-side substances. Mixture of these components is fed at amount 1.5-5.0% of the unsaturated hydrocarbons mass at ratio synthetic fatty acid : coriander oil = (10:1)-(20:1).
