FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, particular, processing of scrap and wastes of aluminum alloys with use of resistance furnace. SUBSTANCE: the offered method consists in melting of aluminum alloy scrap under the flux layer of salts of alkali metals and alkali earth metals 20-40 cm thick with scrap-flux ratio 1:(5-20) by mass. Heating is conducted by passing of alternating current of 7-11 kA per square meter of metal surface at voltage of 10-20 V. Scrap is charged preliminary in molten flux that considerably reduces the surface of constant of hot metal with atmospheric air and moisture and results in many factors of ten smaller oxidation of metal in melting. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 1 tbl
