FIELD: production of new cultures by changing their hereditary features. SUBSTANCE: method involves using 1-5 day germ of one plant as object-emitter and portion of seeds of other plant as object-receptor; positioning apical bud of germ in one of focal planes of shielding elliptic concentrating chamber and positioning seeds at output end of waveguide, whose input end is positioned in other focal plane of concentrating chamber; orienting large axis of concentrating chamber and selecting position of focal planes so as to provide negative gravitropism of germ; acting upon dry seeds of plant-receptor by germ; conducting radiation process for 1-5 days, with germ lengthening being periodically controlled and moving concentrating chamber in the direction of growth of germ till apical bud is in focal plane. Apparatus has metal thin-wall concentrating chamber made in the form of ellipsoid of revolution with internal reflecting surface, waveguide inserted through throat into concentrating chamber cavity and telescopic extensible supports. Cup with seeds-receptors is placed in waveguide. Support has cup with ground fixed on heavy base and adapted for growing germ and sleeve with stop screw and device for indicating positioning of apical bud in lower focal plane of concentrating chamber.
