FIELD: medicine; catheterization of lymphatic vessels for administering medicine agents through them. SUBSTANCE: proposed method resides in dyeing lymphatic vessel with lymphotropic dye, followed by anesthetizing patient's foot with novocaine solution. Next transverse incision is practised, while massaging foot. Vessel thus-incised is pressed by finger, its anterior wall is opened, catheter is inserted into it, catheter is fixed in place, and wound thus-formed is closed by suturing. Lymphatic vessel is detected and isolated by forming tunnel under skin over distance 3-5 cm. Vessel thus-detected is liberated from facial adhesions and its rectilinear portion is catheterized under visual control. Before opening vessel, latter is isolated under visual control in transmitted light. EFFECT: reliable catheterization of lymphatic vessel for intensive and long-term pharmacolymphotherapy; lower rate of postoperative suppurative complications; reduced antibiotics dose per treatment course; shorter duration of treatment of patients affected with rectum cancer.
