FIELD: road-building machinery; applicable in control of asphalt placer, bulldozers, scrapers and other machines. SUBSTANCE: control system has two identical six-coordinate laser receiving-and-transmitting heads. One head is located on base instrument, and the other, on road-building marine. Optical axis of transmitting part of each head is conjugated with axis of receiving part of the other head. This is ensured by installation of each head in single-degree-of-freedom gimbal suspensions with two electromechanical drives and two transducers of angle of turn of head relative to reference body. Transmitting part of each laser head has laser, optical pulse modulator, coder controlled by central computer, collimator and cylindrical lens. Receiving part via converter and decoder is connected with central computer. This ensures two-way exchange of information on deviation of working member position from programmed value between base instrument and road-building machine and provision is made to bring the working member to position preset by program recorded in central computer.
