PROCESS OF FATIGUE TEST OF METAL OF PIPE UNDER TWO-AXES STRESSED STATE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: determination of fatigue characteristics of metal of pipes of pumps, compressors, gas pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: cruciform specimen cut out of pipe is subjected to simultaneous compression or tension with variable effort applied to circular console section and to off-center compression of longitudinal console section with constant compressing effort is applied from inside of specimen, in case of loading with tension - from outside of specimen. For both versions of realization of process value of constant effort is found proceeding from required relation of stresses. Width B of each console section of specimen is chosen from relation , where h is thickness of specimen; R is curvature radius. Various relations of circular and longitudinal stresses in central part of specimen are obtained thanks to additional off-center compression of longitudinal console sections with constant effort.
