FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has facilities for fuel assembly mounting and holding it in position and facilities for vertical displacement of carriage with check-up instruments along fuel assembly, all placed in cooling pond and made in the form of separate modules with supporting pads provided in adjacent slotted floors of pond with supporting pads installed on metal structures of mentioned floors. Fuel assembly mounting and holding module has fuel assembly mounting and turning unit placed on supporting pad and uprising and downtake posts with fuel assembly holding units. Carriage vertical displacement module has supporting pad mounting two downtake guides and carriage both installed in slotted floor plane. Fuel assembly mounting and turning unit is made in the form of shell mounted for rotation about its longitudinal axis whose top end has conical drilling to receive fuel-assembly hanger displacer cone. Shell is turned by means of worm gear fixed on shell and engaging two kinematically linked together and with common drive by means of bevel gear transmission. EFFECT: improved design. 7 cl, 8 dwg
