FIELD: metal cutting processes, devices for securing parts used in hot chambers for dressing waste fuel assemblies of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: chuck designed for mounting in housing of clamping device includes face chuck with its rotation drive unit and clamping cams moving in radial grooves of face chuck by means of screw mechanisms joined with drives in the form of cone wheels placed on face chuck. In order to provide possibility for moving clamping cams at using rotation drive of face chuck and providing possibility for passing through chuck dressed fuel element, cam chuck includes central cylindrical gear wheel mounted coaxially relative to face chuck with possibility of rotation together with it and engaged with central cylindrical gear wheel and rigidly joined with respective cone wheels through cylindrical gear wheels whose number is equal to number of cams. Cam chuck also has unit for braking central cylindrical gear wheel relative to face chuck; said unit may be in the form of pneumatic cylinder with spring-loaded rod.
