FIELD: deposition of powder materials. SUBSTANCE: plasma generator has body, cooled cathode and anode units with current leads located in body, sectionalized interelectrode insert positioned between cathode and anode units, conduit to feed plasma-forming gas and conduit to inject powder into plasma jet. Each section of insert is formed by narrowing part on side of cathode unit transiting to expanding part towards anode unit. Transition diameter from narrowing to expanding parts of each next section is not less than outer diameter of expanding part of preceding section. Inter joining of sections and connection of insert sections with anode unit are carried out with formation of expansion zones in points of joining. Inlet conduit of anode unit is manufactured in the form of two mated cones narrowing towards its inlet cylindrical section. Conduit to inject powder into plasma jet is located close to outlet shear of section. Relation of angles at vertex of bigger cone to smaller one is kept within limits 1.5-2. Expanding and narrowing parts of insert sections can be manufactured in the form of forward cones or nozzle which internal surface is made by form of internal surface of Laval nozzle. EFFECT: enhanced functional efficiency of plasma generator. 4 cl, 2 dwg
