FIELD: electronic equipment, in particular, vacuum-tube instruments. SUBSTANCE: method involves placing two electrodes in space with gas and application of pulse voltage to electrodes. Amplitude of voltage is increased for each pulse by step of 0.02-0.05 V and voltage levels are detected if current jumps between electrodes. Size of current jump is measured. This results in possibility to calculate ionization power which caused generation of ions of gas component. Presence of specific gas in gas mix is judged by ionization power level; content of this gas is judged by size of current jump. EFFECT: possibility to detect gas mix components. 2 cl, 5 tbl
