FIELD: methods and devices for ink-jet printing; applicable in application of information to information carriers. SUBSTANCE: method consists in focusing of light beam of laser on consumable liquid printing material found in nozzle on the side of its open end with information carrier located before it to excite pressure pulses ensuring ejection of liquid drops onto carrier. In so doing, light beam is directed onto the material in nozzle or at angle to its surface between nozzle and carrier, or through carrier transparent for beam wave band. The ink-jet printing head has rows of nozzles with one plugged end formed in body of driving drum. Printing head has means for supply of liquid consumable printing material into nozzles through their open ends and means for forming press pressure pulses in nozzles, laser with device for light beam focusing onto liquid material on the side of open ends of nozzles before which the carrier is located and device for deflection of light beam over these ends.
