FIELD: printing. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in transfer of ink drops from the printing plate to the carrier, directing the beam of laser radiation to the printing plate covered with a layer of ink at an angle to its surface, at the boundary of the ink- plate surface media the beam causes the luminous-hydraulic effect accompanied by arising of a powerful acoustic impulse directed in the trajectory of the beam reflected from the plate and transferring a drop of ink to the carrier from the ink layer on the plate surface. The method provides for a high resolving power of printing due to formation on the inflexible layer of points, 10 to 15 μ in diameter, at a low power to the ejection of drop. The printing device has a printing plate with a surface in the form of an endless tape or cylinder reflecting the laser beam. The combination of points on the carrier forming the text or image according to the preset program is obtained at a joined movement of the carrier, plate and scanning laser beam.
