METHOD FOR JET PRINTING AND PRINTER FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: printing arts. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in transfer of drops of printing ink from the plate to the medium, directing simultaneously two radiating pulses - a powerful clock pulse and a weak control pulse to each preset point of the ink layer. A luminous hydraulic effect arises only due to the energy of both pulses in these points, causing a powerful acoustic pulse and ejection of ink drops from the preset points to the medium. Effect of radiating pulses on the preset points of the ink layer is possible in the following combinations: clock and control pulses - pulses of coherent radiation, clock and control pulses-pulses of non-coherent radiation. The printer used for realization of the given method of printing has a printing plate made of material that is transparent for investigation of preset length of the wave moving synchrously with the information-carrying medium, and generators radiating the clock and control pulses. At an action on all the points of the ink layer equally spaced on the plate surface on the same straight line by clock pulses simultaneously with control pulses in those of them, from which it is necessary to eject drops of ink, powerful acoustic pulses and transfer of ink on information-carrying medium arise in the mentioned points. Then, the plate and the medium displace by a step, and this process repeats up to the transfer of the programmed image to the medium. EFFECT: enhanced printing speeds at a minimum power consumption for ejection of ink drops irrespective of the printing speed and the width of the medium tape. 13 cl
