FIELD: printing methods and devices. SUBSTANCE: method is effected by producing pressure pulses in separate points of ink layer applied to surface of solid smooth plate by focusing light beam of quantum generator to these points from the side opposite to plate surface. Pressure pulses arise due to light-hydraulic effect on boundary of plate surface from transparent material and ink layer applied to it, or due to conversion of light radiation into acoustic ones with light beam of quantum generator absorbed by material nontransparent for its wave length. The printer for embodiment of the offered method has means for scanning light beam over plate surface to excite pressure pulse in ink layer in point preset by the program.
