FIELD: bridge building technology. SUBSTANCE: this can be used in building or reconstruction of bridges which are arranged across rivers where passing of breakthrough waves is possible created at failure of hydraulic engineering structures. For improving operating properties of bridge and its protection from destruction by breakthrough waves, bridge is provided with protective structure in the form of several parallel walls made up of rows of piles which are arranged at normal to water flow at head side of bridge in flood-plane and in part of river bed. EFFECT: higher stability of bridge against force of breakthrough water wave due to reduced water level at head side of bridge. 3 dwg
