FIELD: cleaning and separation of multicomponent gas mixtures in a moving layer of adsorbent and in processes of extraction of valuable hydrocarbon components or toxicants from exit gases of petroleum-refining and petrochemical industries. SUBSTANCE: continuous- action adsorber has a casing with adsorption and chromatographic sections, which accommodates fire grates, distribution grate, device for heat supply to the chromatographic section, accumulating grates; in addition, the casing accommodates vertical plates, whose side and lower edges are integrated with the casing; the upper edges of the plates are positioned above the distribution grate. The quantity of vertical plates as compared with the quantity of sections into which the raw material is divided is lower by two, and the distance in height between the upper edges of the closely arranged vertical plates is not less than the length of mass transfer for the fraction mainly abstracted into space with adsorbent between these vertical plates; the distance between the plates does not exceed value L determined from expression L=G(DxV), where G - volumetric flow rate of adsorbent supplied to the space between the plates, V-rate of flow of adsorbent, D-adsorber diameter. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 cl, 4 dwg, 2 tbl
