FIELD: gyroscopic instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: method consists in preliminary phasing of signal of gyro standard resistor with direction of gyro body turn in azimuthal plane. In operating mode, gyro is turned in azimuth through 360 deg relative to heading direction sought for. Values of voltages from standard resistor are determined in equidistant angular positions. Angular distance between these positions is selected si that angle of 90 deg for it is multiple. Gyro axis heading values at these angles are determined analytically. Then obtains heading values are brought to heading direction sought for with the use of known azimuth angles of gyro turn, and heading sought for is determined as their average value. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
