FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out external examination and morphometric studies. Sella turcica diaphragm state relative to pituitary body is examined and elastic properties of the pituitary body are checked by its palpating in carrying out external examination. Hypophyseal cell sizes are determined by studying horizontal histotopographic sections of the pituitary body in performing morphometric studies. Bulging sella turcica diaphragm under the influence of swelling pituitary body and elasticity of hypophyseal capsule with hypertrophy of cells building the pituitary body being detected, intrasellar hypertension is diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of diagnosis.
