FIELD: analytical methods for petroleum products. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at increasing reliability of evaluation of vaporability of mineral lubricating oils by way of increasing amount of evaporated oil on heating in laboratory conditions with no chemical changes in the oil itself. The aim is achieved through addition to oil of N,N- dimethylformamide as scavenger at ratio 1:(1.9-2.1), carrying out evaporation at 154±1 C (below temperature of the beginning of decomposition of most heat-sensitive additive) under vacuum for 2 h.
