AIR-ROAD VEHICLE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; high-speed vehicles. SUBSTANCE: in known air-road vehicle containing train of cars with butt-joining devices and wheel bogies bed is made with barriers separating lower portions of expansion chambers and air cushions separated by metal walls, parallel to rails. Train is made with upper portion of engine-propellers in form of air jet engine which is connected by tapering gas conduit with expansion chamber formed in lower portion by walls and barriers of road bed and in upper portion, by door and bottom of car. Exhaust gases from expansion chambers pass through gas conduit into air cushions formed by walls and barriers of road at two sides of expansion chambers. Cars are multiple deckers, with additional wheel bogies. Brake skids with oil jacks are installed between wheel bogies at each side of car. Each butt joining device is made in form of frame with vertical axis of rotation and two axle-shafts of horizontal axle of this device. Each brake skid can be made with replaceable brake sole, rod, piston and oil chambers of oil jack arranged above and under piston in jack housing rigidly coupled with car housing.
