FIELD: railway transport; high-speed vehicle. SUBSTANCE: air-road transport system has road-bed and train consisting of different application cars. Air cushion road is used as bed. Road has two relatively parallel ski tracks in form of steel H-section or channel beams with wooden lining of inner sides and steel rail laid along bed axial line. Steel bodies with walls parallel to axial rail are laid between axial rail and each ski track. Steel bodies have projections separating one air cushion from adjacent cushion and doors of width equal to width of air cushion. Air-road train used in system consists of head, passenger and tail cars and one or several platform cars for carrying large-size loads. All cars are provided with skis installed on ski track of air-cushion road. Head, passenger and tail cars are provided with brake skis with oil jacks. Head are passenger cars are furnished with air breathing jet engines-propellers, main and additional compressors, cylinders with liquid or gaseous fuel. Head and tail cars have internal combustion engine with electric generators. Tail car has chambers of secondary jet propeller arranged over air cushion chambers. All cars of air-road train are connected by butt-joint units into streamlined train using pressure of air cushion gases onto car bottom to counteract gravity of cars for equalizing forces of opposite direction, thus providing flying of train over air-cushion road. Air cushion gas pressure is built through hole of jet propeller gas duct through which gases are delivered into upper portion of air cushion of air cushion road. All cars of train are provided with rollers with vertical axles of rotation installed at sides of axial rail in contact with rail. Air-road train has switches installed on ski tracks, laid from main track, with minimum tolerable radius of curvature, to other main track or to track for making up and repair of air-road train. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 cl, 23 dwg
