FIELD: diagnostics of material and structures, measurement of stressed-deformed state of bolted and studded joints in construction, erection and operation of vital facilities in various branches of industry and transport, electrical and nuclear power engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical industry and so on. SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic vibrations of longitudinal and shift waves are created in tested joint simultaneously or sequentially before and after tightening. Ultrasonic vibrations passed through tested joint are received, resonance frequencies of these waves are measured and their relations are used to determine values of mechanical stress and relative deformation. Nonlinear distortions of vibrations are controlled in addition and their emergence is used to judge presence of defects in tested joint. EFFECT: expanded application field and improved functional reliability of method. 1 cl, 1 dwg
