FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: metal antimony is smelted and smelt is oxidized with oxygen-containing blast. Evolved gases containing antimony trioxide are cooled while the latter is trapped. Cooling is performed by aspirating evolved gases into directed flow of cooling gas agent. Vector difference of velocities of streams being mixed constitutes at least 10 m/h. As cooling gas agent, gases containing solid antimony trioxide at temperature as high as 50 C are used.
