SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying heat-generating gases and providing discharge space; treating with plasma medium at atmospheric pressure, with plasma medium conforming with object surface upon contact with it due to excitation of electric discharge by applying time variable voltage. Apparatus has plasma generating gas supply system, power source, support for object to be treated and plasma generator having two electrodes connected with power source. Discharge space between electrodes is connected with gas supply system. Support is provided with device allowing object to be positioned within discharge space.
