FIELD: highway engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laying upper layers of pavement and aims at increased water resistance and durability of asphaltic concrete and lowering temperature of preparation and cost of sand asphalt. To that aim, quartz sand is treated with carbonate slime (moisture 50-60%) followed by drying at 160-180 C. Hot sand asphalt preparation with this filler requires following component contents, wt.-%: quartz sand, 70; carbonate filler, 30; bitumen, 9 (based on mineral mixture weight); and carbonate slime, 5-10 (on sand weight). EFFECT: improved quality and increased service life of pavement. 2 tbl
