BITUMINOUS WATER-EMULSION PASTE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: production of building materials, hydroinsulation materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed bituminous water-emulsion paste comprises bitumen, mineral emulsifier and water. Mineral emulsifier is constituted by carbonate slurry, that is waste product resulting from water purification and water softening treatment at thermal power generating plants. Emulsifier has following composition, wt.%: bitumen 50; carbonate slurry (based on dry matter content) 14-18; water 36-32. Proposed bituminous pastes are highly dispersed, have improved adhesive parameters and adhesive ability. EFFECT: improved homogeneity, water stability and adhesive properties of pastes; simpler and cheaper manufacturing process. 2 tbl
