FIELD: railway track repair and maintenance equipment. SUBSTANCE: device for repair of ballast prism of railway track has first group of machines: crushed-stone removing machine with power-driven operating chain, crushed-stone cleaning machine, rail lifting unit and belt conveyer, crushed-stone producing machine with stone crusher and collecting platform, and second group of machines: crushed-stone removing machine with power-driven operating chain, belt conveyer and collecting platform, and third group of machines: machine for creating protective course and collecting platform. According to method, old crushed-stone is removed in two stages. After removing each layer, placed on remaining layer of old crushed-stone or ground bed is railway track which is then lifted before subsequent removing of old crushed stone and before placing protective layer material. First layer of old crushed-stone after its removal is crushed and collected for further use as material for protective layer. EFFECT: high efficiency. 6 cl, 3 dwg
