TRACK-LAYING MACHINE FOR REMOVING BALLAST MATERIAL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: railway track construction and maintenance machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: track-laying machine has rail trucks and machine frame resting on rail trucks. One section of machine frame is bent upward. Machine frame carries crushed-stone receiving device located in direction of working travel and including crushed-stone discharge unit. Also provided are following components: crushed-stone removing chain conveyor which is adjustable in height by means of power drives, rail track lifting device, device for transporting ballast material in longitudinal direction. This ballast material is cut out by crushed-stone removing chain conveyor which together with its chain drive is located in upper terminating part of machine frame. Crushed-stone discharge unit is adjustable in height and can be displaced laterally with respect to longitudinal axis of machine by means of power drives. This discharge unit together with its drives is located below upward bent section of machine frame. Rail track lifting device is mounted between crushed-stone removing chain conveyor and crushed-stone discharge unit. Crushed-stone discharge troughs can be used and they are located directly after receiving end of ballast material transporting device. Application of aforesaid embodiment of track-laying machine ensures quick and effective performing of repair and maintenance operations on short section of rail track.
