FIELD: cleaning exhaust gases of internal combustion engines in transport facilities. SUBSTANCE: catalytic reactor consists of tubular casing in which at least two separate elements are inserted. These elements have cellular structure and are made from sheets with cross-linked layers. To ensure economical efficiency of manufacture in large-scale production, use is made of flexible members having cellular structure which are inserted in tubular casing at preliminary tension which is achieved through elastic compression of elements having cellular structure by amount ranging from 2 to 10 percent of their theoretical diameter without internal stresses; they are elastically compressed before inserting them into tubular casing and/or tubular casing is plastically compressed after introduction of elements having cellular structure. Such elements retain their stability during mechanical load at fast manufacture due to preliminary tension and they are fit for soldering in vertical position and applying coats made from ceramic materials. EFFECT: enhanced economical efficiency of manufacture. 20 cl, 8 dwg
