FIELD: electrical engineering; cellular electric heating elements used in case conducting parts should be electrically isolated. SUBSTANCE: structure uses spatially press-fitted ceramic material practically on all sides placed between first and second metal structures. Both metal structures are shaped so that they exert pressure on ceramic material practically on all sides without contacting each other. Method for producing this supporting structure is based on three-dimensional coupling involving geometric closure of components of first and second metal structures by their joint deformation. At least one of metal structures has surface or surface coating capable of chemical transformation to insulating layer of ceramic material. We also propose electrically heated catalytic converter built around mentioned insulating metal structure. EFFECT: provision for connecting metal parts to electrically insulated conducting parts capable of sustaining high mechanical thrusts in all directions including elongation. 16 cl, 5 dwg
