FIELD: measurement technology, determination of parameters of particles of contaminating agent in working fluid, mechanical engineering and transport for diagnosis of rubbing units in machines. SUBSTANCE: output signals of photoelectric converter are analyzed to isolate local maxima, pulses are formed by amplitude equal to local maxima and then amplitude analysis of these secondary pulses is conducted. This makes it possible to increase limiting measured concentration. Device is supplemented with unit isolating local maxima composed of peak detectors 5, 6, comparators 7, 8, 9, keys 10, 11, logic OR gate 12, generator 13 of noise threshold and pulse former 14.
