FIELD: methods and plants for processing of wastes of armored cable; may be used at works of secondary metallurgy in recovery of nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: method includes successive crushing, transportation of mixture of fragments of conductors, polymer insulation and cloth sheath for separation, separation and cleaning of materials after separation. Method is distinguished by the fact that cable is cut into fragments of preset length and transportation of cable fragments prior to crushing, magnetic separation of parts of armor and their removal. Crushing of cable fragments is carried out by their supply vertically from top to bottom with simultaneous hammering of cable fragments in direction perpendicular to direction of supply. Separation of mixture of conductor fragments, polymer insulation and cloth sheath are accomplished in ascending current of air with formation of flow of fragments of conductors, flow of fragments of polymer insulation and dust air flow with particles of cloth sheath. The plant for embodiment of the offered method includes vertical hammer crusher, separator of mixture of fragments of conductors, polymer insulation and cloth sheath, devices for cleaning of separated materials and device for transportation of processing products. The plant is distinguished by the fact that it is provided with device for cutting cable into fragments, magnetic separator; crushed is provided with device for supply of cable fragments from atop. Separator is made in the form of air separator provided in its upper part with expander and device for withdrawal of dust-air flow with particles of cloth sheath connected with unit for collection of dust and particles of cloth sheath, and with device for withdrawal of separated flow of fragments of polymer insulation.
