SUBSTANCE: method involves clamping waveguide in clamps 4, positioning electrodes 1 by means of micrometer position setter 7 with step motor 8, switching on power supply 5 of electric arc 6 and heating waveguide for given period, switching off are located arc power supply. Then method involves movement of electrodes 1 along waveguide axis Z by period of modulation of refraction index and repeating this process. Electric motor 8 of micrometer position setter 7 and power supply 5 of electric arc 6 are controlled by computer 12 in order to keep correct order and periodic operations.
