FIELD: measurement of nuclear radiations and X-rays, optical dosimetry. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to fiber-optical sensors making it possible to conduct long-term dosimetry of parts of nuclear installations, places of burying of radioactive waste, etc that are inaccessible for man. Proposed fiber-optical sensor of ionizing radiation has fiber light guide 1 including sheath 2 and core 3. Light guide carries doping admixture of nitrogen and/or hydrogen, their concentrations in core and sheath are at least two times different. Fiber light guide 1 is placed in path of ionizing radiation. Change of optical losses in light guide in absorption bands of OH and/or NH groups is measured and used to evaluate dose of ionizing radiation. Measurements are taken on two lengths of waves as minimum. EFFECT: increased authenticity of measurements by way of provision of unambiguous relation between change of optical losses in fiber light guide and absorbed dose of ionizing radiation independent of radiation conditions. 23 cl, 9 dwg
