SUBSTANCE: shielded arc welding with consumable and non-consumable electrode comes to forming several closed flows of shielding gases by means of nozzle with ring slots. Gas flows, thus formed, enclose arc and welding pool. Outer ring flow of shielding gas is formed into truncated cone with larger base from below. Thickness of flow layer is reduced downwards. Rotation is imparted to outer flow getting out of ring slot. Superheated steam is used as shielding gas in outer ring flow. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 1 dwg
