FIELD: electric arc gas-shield welding by consumable and non-consumable electrodes in different industry branches for joining metallic materials. SUBSTANCE: electric current supply pipe is mounted in body of burner. Nozzle includes annular ducts for feeding shield gas. Unit for swirling flow of shield gas is arranged in outer annular duct and it is in the form of oriented horizontal disc mounted in annular chamber and closely clamped between flanges for defining upper space joined with outer annular duct opened to electrode and welding bath. In peripheral portion of guiding disc there are arched slits turned downwards by their convex portions and having axes tangentially directed to the same side. Flow of shield gas is regularly swirled around electrode and welding bath, and simultaneously inert shield gas is fed to center directly on electrode for preventing air suction into said zone. EFFECT: significantly decreased consumption of shield gas, enhanced stability of local gas shield against outer disturbance. 7 dwg
