FIELD: electrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises electrolysis of solution containing manganese sulfur and free sulfuric acid. In order to prepare solution, spent electrolyte is used with concentration of sulfuric acid of 300-370 g/l. After separation of manganese dioxide deposit, the spent electrolyte is treated with manganese carbonate in terms of 1.17 kg per 1 kg of free sulfuric acid, and electrolyte is subsequently filtered. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
