FIELD: manufacture of engines; diagnosis of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: method consists in forming voltage pulse, charging the capacitive voltage divider connected in parallel with electrodes of discharger located in combustion chamber of internal combustion engine and measuring the voltage at center tap of capacitive divider immediately after charge and later within period of time lesser than complete discharge of divider and calculating the difference of measured voltages.
