FIELD: electrical equipment of internal-combustion engines enabling measurement of ionic current between spark-gap electrodes of engine spark plug during combustion of air-fuel mixture. SUBSTANCE: ignition system has power supply, control unit, spark gap provided in combustion chamber, ignition channel incorporating electronic switch whose control lead is connected to output of control unit, and ignition coil with primary and secondary windings. First lead of primary winding is connected to power supply pole and its second lead, to engine ground through electronic switch; high-voltage lead of secondary winding is connected through diode to second electrode of spark gap. System also incorporates instrument capacitor whose first electrode is connected to central electrode of spark gap; ignition channel is provided, in addition, with current-measuring resistor inserted between second electrode of instrument capacitor and ground; control unit is provided, in addition, with two inputs; first input is connected to common point of instrument capacitor and current-measuring resistor and second one, to common point of ignition coil primary winding and electronic switch. One more capacitor may be connected in parallel with primary turns of ignition coil. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of ignition system. 2 cl, 1 dwg
