FIELD: cleaning gases from harmful impurities; may be used in cleaning of gas mixtures from carbon monoxide in systems of collective and individual protection of respiratory organs, cleaning of effluents of industrial enterprises, cleaning of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines and for other industrial and environmental control purposes. SUBSTANCE: catalyst consists of manganese dioxide, copper oxide, bentonite clay with the following amount of components, wt.-%: manganese dioxide, 50-90; copper oxide, 2-14; bentonite clay, 5-15; impurities, the balance. EFFECT: reduced expenditures for catalyst production that makes it more accessible for a wide circle of consumers. 1 tbl
