FIELD: drilling equipment. SUBSTANCE: this relates to self-propelled drilling machines intended for drilling non-deep vertical bore-holes in mining, construction and other industries. According to method, drill is initially placed in working position by means of hydraulic manipulator, then it is brought to work face and on completion of drilling it is removed from bore-hole. At initial positioning of drill, boom of hydraulic manipulator is raised at angle β to horizon with orientation of drill in vertical. Working feed of drill in drilling bore-hole is performed by turning boom downwards to double value of aforesaid angle. Maximal value of angle is determined by formula , where L - distance from drill suspension point to its lower end of drill, m; γp - angle of bore-hole deviation from vertical as permitted by standard documents, rad; R - radius of turning of drill suspension point, m.
