FIELD: mechanical and instrumentation engineering; may be used in manufacture of metal cases and shells of various purposes from sheet metal. SUBSTANCE: method consists in repeated action on blank by shock wave and hot explosion products formed in detonation of combustible gas mixture found before each action at preset initial pressure. After each action, value of blank deformation is measured, and initial pressure of combustible gas mixture before each action is preset on the basis of blank deformation value measured after preceding action. For this purpose, use is made of experimentally constructed dependence of maximum permissible initial pressure of mixture on blank deformation value which is estimated by blank deflection in the region subject to maximum tension. The device for embodiment of the offered method has die and explosion chamber with means for supply of combustible gas mixture and means for initiation of detonation, and strain gages of blank deformation. Strain gages are located in die and/or in explosion chamber. Strain gage is used in the form of rheostat displacement transducer. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
