FIELD: recovery of silicates from vegetable waste. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at recovering water-soluble silicates to prepare liquid glass appropriate to be used in fat, soap-making, chemical, textile, and other industries for manufacturing weld electrodes, molds and cores. Silicates are obtained when bringing about interaction of rice husk ashes containing 50-99% of amorphous silicon dioxide with alkali at temperature 90-250 C in continuous straight-flow reactor whereto initial reactants are fed at a specified ratio either by separate streams or recurring to preliminarily mixing reactants prior to be introduced into reactor. EFFECT: achieved desired properties of products because of enabled possibility of correcting properties directly in preparation process, which is also accelerated. 10 cl, 1 dwg
