FIELD: machine tool manufacture. SUBSTANCE: machine tool has two supports, transverse carriages of which are moved by screw drives. Each transverse carriage is provided with auxiliary cam drive geared to screw drive and positioned in respective longitudinal carriage. Transverse carriages are moved by both screw drive and cam drive when machining the profiles of tyres, i. e. profile is formed in the absence of control system. Availability of changeable face cams of auxiliary drive widens machine tool technological capabilities. EFFECT: enhanced turning process. 7 cl, 5 dwg
