FIELD: chemical quality control of coolants at nuclear power stations using RMBK reactors. SUBSTANCE: correcting dope of dissolved copper is introduced in reactor coolant to maintain desired proportion of copper and iron corrosion products in coolant. Dope in the form of solution of copper oxides and hydroxides containing corrosion-active anions is optimally used. Copper ions contained in core coolant enter in active reaction with radiolytic decomposition products, first of all with hydrogen transferring in the action to lower oxidation stage. Recovered copper immediately enters in reaction with radiolytic oxygen transferring into oxidized state Cu2+. As a result, concentration of oxidizers, including H2O2 of radiolytic origin, reduces. With copper to iron corrosion products ratio of 1:1 to 1:3, catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide occurs in coolant. EFFECT: reduced impact of corrosive agents contained in coolant on zirconium cans of reactor fuel assemblies due to reduced concentration of oxygen and hydrogen peroxide in coolant. 2 cl 3 dwg , 2 tbl
