FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves extraction of some portion of coolant, its decontamination, and return to circuit; extraction is proposed to be made in turn from end zones of group of dispensing headers. With reactor running at full power, cooling circuit decontaminating system is used to eliminate accumulation of corrosion products in dispensing headers and to maintain desired water chemistry in cooling circuit. With reactor shut down , system serves to remove corrosion products from headers thereby essentially reducing gamma-radiation power in water conduits and dose rates during repairs of equipment.
