FIELD: TV equipment, in particular, video walls for multiple-screen or single pictures, editor's arrays of video monitors. SUBSTANCE: method involves displaying picture of test chart on screen of each displaying cell (video monitor) of raster TV system, converting said test chart into signal with information about color and brightness characteristics of this cell by means of photodetector, comparison of these characteristics to required values by means of control unit which is designed as special-purpose processor, generation of control commands by means of corresponding unit for preliminary signal correction which alters input video signal of cell in order to bring characteristics of test chart into accord with required characteristics so that both diversity in characteristics and temperature and time drift of these characteristics are compensated. Adaptation of color and brightness characteristics of cells is achieved manually or automatically by means of regulation unit. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 2 cl, 1 dwg
