SUBSTANCE: method for verifying the output of the required image by the video monitor includes: selecting an area on the screen of the video monitor for displaying the control colour signal; placing an RGB photodetector opposite said area of the video monitor; connecting the RGB photodetector to an analogue-to-digital converter connected with a comparison apparatus; connecting a reference video signal generation apparatus to the comparison device; connecting the reference video signal generation apparatus to a video image adder; generating video images of a colour spot in the control area of the monitor; generating a "NORMAL" signal by the comparison apparatus if the order of alternation of colours and brightnesses thereof in the control area match in comparison; if the comparison of brightness video signals in the comparison apparatus leads to the formation of a mismatch signal, forming a "FAILURE" signal, resetting and restarting the video monitor.

EFFECT: ensured control of the authenticity of information displayed on monitors, information display boards and other similar devices.
